Snoring Causes
A major cause of snoring is Sleep Apnea. While you sleep, your airway becomes more collapsible. Individuals with Sleep Apnea have a very narrow airway which may collapse while sleep, causing the individual to stop breathing for a period of time, up to 90 seconds! Snoring is caused when air passes through the small airway, causing the tissues to vibrate. The vibrating tissues give rise to what can be a loud and unpleasant sound.
