Clinically obese people are more likely to suffer from Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Fat that is deposited on the neck, puts extra pressure on the throat, causing it to be more narrow and easliy collapsible. Furthermore, obese patients usually have a larger tongue, which also obstructs the airway further.
